Public Comment Period  At 6:30 p.m., immediately preceding Call to Order, the Village Board of Trustees will hold a public comment period for the purpose of allowing the non-elected general public the opportunity to address the Board on any subject of concern that is not the topic of a current or previous Public Hearing before the Village Board. Each person who wishes to address the Village Board of Trustees may do so at the podium for a maximum of 3 minutes. The Board will only receive comments during Public Comment. The Public Comment portion of the meeting is scheduled for a total of 15 minutes in length but will end sooner if the Village President has determined that there is no one else present who still wishes to speak. After Public Comment has ended, there will be a short recess to begin broadcast of the Board of Trustees Meeting.

5.   Public Hearings: All persons interested in making comments about any of the public hearing items will be heard. Formal petitions and written comments regarding any of the public hearing items may be submitted tonight. During the public hearing(s), if you wish to be heard, the Village Board of Trustees asks that you begin by stating your name and address, speak for no more than three minutes and attempt to avoid duplication.  Each person speaking at the public hearing must complete a Public Hearing Appearance form before speaking and hand it to the Village Clerk after they have spoken.  Forms are available on the table located at the back of the room.

a.   Village Board discussion and possible action to instruct Village staff to authorize an advisory referendum question to the February 2020 primary or April general election ballot.

Advisory Referendum question:

Should the Village Board of Menomonee Falls adopt a resolution asking the School District of Menomonee Falls to retain and continue the use of "Indians" as a nickname, on school imagery and as a mascot?

9.   New Business - Discussion and possible action on the following items:
 
a.   A Resolution to amend the Sewer Utility rates for the Village of Menomonee Falls, to be effective January 1, 2020.   Click to View
 
b.   Village Board discussion and possible action to request the Village Attorney to draft a resolution which would make the necessary changes to the broadcast policy that would return the public comment portion of the Village Board meetings to the broadcast.

This would also change the opening remarks of the Village President and a reminder to not address individual Trustees or staff during public comments but either address these as simply "The Board" or "The Staff" during public comment.
