b.   Trustee Randy Van Alstyne and Tim Newman would like to request the following item be added to the agenda on our June 15, 2020 Village Board meeting.

This item is to address numerous residents' concerns regarding Trustee Steve Taggart's recent communications regarding the Saturday June 6, 2020 peaceful educational rally. Overwhelmingly the residents are asking for his resignation. We would like to understand what authority the Village Board has to discipline or remove a current Village Trustee from office if he refuses to resign on his own accord.

To be specific, Trustee Taggart made several comments on social media sites in regards to the peaceful educational rally with reference to our Police Dept use of guns and to the MF School Board for the use of land.

After receiving the needed information from the Village Attorney and further discussion among the Village Trustees, consideration of a motion to discipline (censure) Village Trustee Steve Taggart will take place.

Be it further resolved. The Village Board has selected attorney Matthew Fernholz of Cramer, Multhauf & Hames, LLP to assess whether certain appointees to Village Boards and Committees continue to serve, and whether the Village may pass an ordinance addressing such appointees and positions.
